There’s no denying that Instagram has become a given for any brand who wishes to reach their audience.
Instagram has over 800 million monthly active users. Therefore it’s a necessity that your brand is available and active on the social media platform. However, just posting an occasional photo does not equal success.
How does your brand tell it’s story on Instagram? Is it consistent with its audience and content, and up-to-date with various aspects of the app?
We’ve put together three Irish brands who we think are effectively telling their story on insta.
Folkster
Folkster is an Irish woman’s clothing store, with shops in Dublin and Kilkenny, as well as online. What Blanaid Hennessy originally started as Shutterbug Vintage Kilo Sales has now grown into a prestigious vintage shopping experience. With customers travelling nationwide to visit their boutiques.
They are a brand of elegance meets vintage bohemian. They stay true to their original retro roots. The style and tone of the brand is set by daily and consistent visuals posted to their account. They also use celebrity influence with similar fashion style, such as Amy Huberman, to support the brand.
Folkster are a brand that consistently post to the feature ‘InstaStories’ on Instagram. Their regular posting ensures their account is always available in the ‘Stories’ icon. It also means there is constantly new content available for users to browse. This content includes new arrivals to their stores, behind the scenes of photoshoots and an insight into the direction and plans for the brand.
This content helps keep their audience engaged. It also helps tell the story of their brand. From kilo sales to an online shopping platform, Folkster is bringing their vintage story back in fashion, one Instagram post at a time.
Nutbutter
Nutbutter is a newly established Dublin eatery that specializes in plant-based food. Their mission is to make healthy food sexy.
It sources a mixture of both Irish and exotic ingredients. This means its menu is fresh and colourful, which is directly reflected on their Instagram account. The bright and vibrant pictures of beautifully presented acai bowels to hearty pilled Mexican bowls tell the story if their inspiration.
This restaurant shows it values its Instagram followers. Their soft opening provided an exclusive to their Instagram followers only.
Nutbutter also provides indepth looks at their recipes, behind the scenes look at their kitchen and what’s on offer on a given day. Their Instagram keeps their audience up to date about their café. It is continuously telling the story of their brand showing us how healthy food can be sexy after all.
Chupi
The Irish jewellery brand Chupi holds an Instagram account of elegance, creativity and is very detailed orientated. Much like the jewellery designs.
Founder, Chupi Sweetnam is a former Topshop fashion designer. She was irresistibly drawn to “wild and natural things” and she has created a multi-award winning jewellery brand.
Personalisation is evident from her Instagram feed. She pictures her unique pieces created especially for clients. She actively engages in discourse and opinions in the comment sections of her posts. Her wonder and awe of nature shines through in her pieces of jewellery. It is also beautifully captured in her chosen images on her Instagram feed. Alongside her images are the story of the piece of journey. The audience sees not only a ring or a necklace but find how it was created and why it was chosen. Each instagram post is unqiue, much like their jewellery.
The account is structured and organized, yet also chic and fashionable, and clearly promotes her personal story and passion for nature through her jewellery creations.
